چکیده
Abstract Objectives The present study aimed to evaluate interleukin-12 (IL-12) and IL-23 in the saliva of patients with oral lichen planus (OLP) squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Materials Methods Thirty cases clinical histopathological OLP (bilateral lesions, papular reticular Wickham lines) (Group A), 30 SCCs (OSCCs) B), no history cancer, other or C) were enrolled at Department Oral Medicine School Dentistry, Zahedan, Iran. whole unstimulated was collected salivary concentration IL-12 measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay laboratory. Statistical Analysis Data analyzed Kruskal–Wallis, Mann–Whitney tests, Pearson's correlation coefficients. Results In study, levels higher OSCC than healthy individuals. Conclusions results show that although cytokines have important role pathogenesis chronic immunity inflammatory diseases, further studies are required assess matrix metalloproteinase links tumor invasion.

Serum Level of Interleukin-6 in Patients with Oral Tongue Squamous cell Carcinoma
Introduction: The clinical outcome of patients with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) located in the head and neck has remained poor despite ongoing advances in diagnosis and management. Interleukin-6(IL-6) is a multi-functional cytokine that plays an important role in the process of cell differentiation and is increased in several malignancies. The aim of this study was to investigate the serum le...

Background: Oral lichen planus (OLP) has been classified as a pre-malignant condition. Matrix metalloproteinase-13 (MMP-13) or collagenase-3 may play a key role in cancer development. The aim of this study was to compare serum and saliva MMP-13 between patients with oral lichen planus (OLP) and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Methods : This cross sectional study was performed on 30 pat...
متن کاملAssessment of Bax and Bcl-2 Immunoexpression in Patients with Oral Lichen Planus and Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Lichen planus (LP) is a chronic inflammatory disease of probable immune-based etiology. The pathogenesis of LP is unclear, but apoptotic changes in epidermal (epithelial) cells have been reported. Destruction of the basal cell layer is observed and many changes in cell proliferation, cell repair and cell death occur in the injured mucosal epithelium. The aim of this study was to evaluate and co...

BACKGROUND This study aimed to assess the salivary levels of interleukin-8 (IL-8) in oral lichen planus (OLP) and diabetes mellitus (DM) patients, and OLP + DM patients in comparison with healthy individuals. MATERIALS AND METHODS This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 75 patients (30 with OLP, 5 with both OLP and DM, 20 with DM and 20 healthy controls). The salivary levels o...
متن کاملSalivary Interferon Gamma and Interleukin-4 Levels in Patients Suffering from Oral Lichen Planus
OBJECTIVE Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a chronic inflammatory disease. Immunological factor may act as etiological factor. The cellular immune cells such as T cells are impor- tant in pathogenesis. Interferon gamma (IFN-γ) and interleukin 4 (IL-4) are secreted by T-helper 1 (Th1) and Th2, respectively. The aim of this study was to investigate the cor- relation between salivary levels of IFN-γ an...
